How it works
- 01
Enter the basics
The wizard asks step by step: start time, team count, format, pitches and match length. You add the team names afterwards in your dashboard.
- 02
Get your schedule
From your answers the app assigns fixtures, rounds and pitches automatically. No team has two matches at the same time, and nobody has to work anything out by hand.
- 03
Share it live
You share one link with every team. Enter a result at the touchline and everyone sees the new standings within seconds.
What it looks like in the app
The settings with match length and breaks, a result entered live at the touchline, and the public tournament page every team sees through the link.
Which format suits your tournament?
The app worked out these figures for 8 teams on 2 pitches, with 10-minute matches, 2-minute breaks and the usual breaks between rounds. The wizard shows you the figures for your team count and timings before you create anything.
| Format | Matches with 8 teams | Duration | Fits when … |
|---|---|---|---|
| Round robin | 28 | just under 3 hours | every team should play the same number of matches. Beyond 8 teams the day gets long quickly. |
| Groups + knockout | 19 (12 in the groups, 7 in the knockout round) | just under 3 hours | every team should be sure of several matches and the day should end with a proper final. Also works for 16 teams or more. |
| Pure knockout | 7 | just over 1 hour | time is short. Lose and you're out. Works with 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 teams. |
Runs in your browser: nothing to install
AreaCopa is a web app. You open it in your browser, on your phone, tablet or laptop, and get started.
There is nothing to download from an app store and no update to wait for. Teams and parents only need the link to the tournament, no account and no app.
If you use it often, add it to your home screen from the browser menu and it is one tap away.
For your tournament
Not every tournament is a day on a full-size pitch. Indoors, time is tight; in youth football the age group decides the format; and a league runs for a whole season. That is why you set match length, breaks, pitches and format yourself in the app, and for a season it plans real matchdays instead of a single day. What applies to your case, with proven formats and figures, is on these pages:
- Indoor
Indoor tournament
The hall is booked and the pitch is small. Short matches and a format that suits the number of teams keep the timetable. The page shows proven indoor templates and the live link for parents in the stands.
- Youth
Youth tournament
Children play different formats depending on their age group. Which bracket fits depends on the number of teams. The page covers formats by age group, the festival format for U7–U9 and a checklist up to match day.
- Season
League
A season with many matchdays is easy to lose track of on paper. The app plans real matchdays, home and away if you like, and keeps the table. The page shows how you set up the league and what players and spectators see.
